Edit an investor's details

After searching for an investor (either using the search function or via the CAP table); you can edit the following information by simply clicking edit on the relevant section of the investor details page

Note: You can choose not to send a confirmation communication to the investor regarding the update by selecting the "no" radio button when asked Send communication with this update? This is defaulted to "yes".

  • Security Details:
    • You can edit the Name and address (for up to three investors if it is a joint holding), as well as the Account designation for the holding if applicable.
    • Note that it is not possible to update any of these registration details if the holding is a CHESS sponsored holding as CHESS sponsored holdings must be updated by the broker who manages the holding.
  • Payment instructions:
    • You can specify the investor’s Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRP) preference for this holding by setting DRP status to either Full Participation, Partial Participation or No Participation.
    • If Partial Participation is chosen then you must enter the maximum number of units participating in the DRP, If the investor holds fewer securities than the amount specified in DRP units, then the holding’s DRP status will automatically be considered to be Full Participation.
    • You can specify a BSB, Account Number and Account Name for the holding which will be used for any payments which are made to the investor for this holding.
  • Tax details:   
    • You can specify a Country of tax residency, a Tax type (depending on whether the investor is an Individual, Superannuation fund or some other type of corporate or government entity), as well as up to three valid Tax numbers. A valid Tax number is either a valid Tax File Number (TFN) or a valid Australian Business Number (ABN).
    • Until you have specified a valid Country of tax residency, Tax Type and at least one valid Tax number, the holding’s Tax status will show as Tax details not sufficiently quoted.
  • Contact details:
    • The Contact details preferences can only be edited by you as the issuer if there is no Registered user with access to the holding. Once a Registered user has been given access to the holding, only they can update their Contact details from their user account in the Investor Centre. 
    • You can specify the Contact name and Phone (mobile, business and after hours).
  • Communication preferences: 
    • The Communication preferences can only be edited by you as an issuer if there is no Registered user with access to the holding. Once a Registered user has been given access to the holding, only they can update their Communication preferences from their user account in the Investor Centre.
    • You can specify whether the investor will receive communications either via Post or Email for four different types of communications. If you choose Post, the Registry Direct platform will generate a PDF which you can print and send to the investor via post. If Email is chosen, the Registry Direct platform will send an email to the email address specified in the Contact details for the holding. The four types of communications are:
      1. Annual Reports
        • For annual reports, you can also specify Do not send if the investor does not want to receive the annual report.
      2. Company information
      3. Statements
      4. Notice of meetings and proxy
    • If you have tried to send mail via post to the investor and it has been returned to sender, you can tick the Postal mail has been returned to sender box. This will result in the investor seeing a notification prompting them to update their postal address details next time they log into the investor centre.
